Muslim Spain lecture course

by Sarah Pierce, NYU

“I just posted an updated syllabus for my Muslim Spain intro lecture course that accounts for the fact that the rest of the semester will be taught remotely with students scattered to the four corners. It’s definitely not the award-winning, entrepreneurial, digital pedagogy that our deans are hoping for but I’m also not just importing everything we were going to do in person onto Zoom. (And I’m not throwing shade on anyone for whom that will work! We’re all doing what we need to do to get through this.) So in spite of its limitations, I’m sharing it in case any of my digital triage strategies are useful for anyone else.”

Test Post with video

Here are some questions:

  • Why is this woman in her pajamas?
  • In her kitchen?
  • What time do you think it is?
  • More on Martin da Canal’s Les Estoires de Venise.
